The Darkmoon Faire makes its return in 4.3 and one thing is for sure: it’s finally getting the awesome revamp it deserved.
Shrouded in mist, sequestered away on its own island, the Faire returns with aplomb with mounts, vanity pets, and everything else you’d expect from a redone faction. From Tonk Battle Royale to Whack-a-Gnoll, it’s got a few games up its sleeves like any good carnival should have as well. Some of the bigger changes also include:
- Players will be able to work behind the scenes to earn skill points, up to five per week, to their professions of choice through quests.
- Inspired by the Gurubashi arena, there will be deathmatches for prizes every three hours.
- A new item, Darkmoon Artifacts will drop from battlegrounds, dungeons, and so on and will allow players to turn them in for rewards.
- New heirlooms will be added through the Faire.
- Most importantly, the Darkmoon Faire will bring back long-lost armor sets for transmogrification! Read more…

The FINAL FANTASY XI Test Server is a special server dedicated to testing various features that are in development for future version updates. With the test server, players may try out new content before its release and submit feedback and suggestions for improvement on the official forums.
The initial test period will focus on the new job abilities, job traits, and magic spells set to accompany the level cap increase that will be featured in the forthcoming version update.

EVE and DUST 514 Players are on two different platforms – PC and PS3 will be able to communicate and affect the others, this sounds amazing. But how exactly will EVE and DUST 514 players interact with each other? CCP just uncovered part of the secret.
EVE Gate serves as the communal hub for EVE pilots and DUST soldiers. According to the developer, “this is where players from both games can manage their contacts, check in-game mail (when not actually in-game), post on forums, check their calendar for upcoming events or post new events of their own to the calendar.” More features will be added as the development goes on, and some will be DUST-specific, such as battle heatmaps. Sharm. Follow the trail of the formidable (yet adorable) Boowolves or improve your Lumberjack technique by cutting down some Ancestral Pines! But beware, the forest isn’t as quiet as it seems, and tension is growing among the Sadida people.
A good group of class modifications were also included for the Cra, Ecaflip, Eniripsa, Iop, Xelor, and Eunutrof classes. These changes have been long overdue and many in the community seem to be taking well to them.
The political system received some great additions, including 4 new laws available to regional governors. A lot of other changes have been made to the governor’s abilities to prevent various abuses and mismatched elections.

Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) is no stranger to the dangers of compromised security following the cyber attack they suffered in April that compromised more than 100 million accounts across the Playstation Network and SOE services.
SOE recently added an additional security option for players with the new SOE Authenticator. Priced at $9.99, the SOE Authenticator will add a random password six digit pin code that will also be added with your SOE password when logging into a game.
SOE has also announced that a mobile authenticator will be available at a later date for iOS and Android devices. Currently the authenticator only works for PC accounts and not for the Playstation 3. More details here.

The next EVE Online mass test will take place on Thursday, August 18 at 20:00 UTC, and will be held on the Singularity Server. EVE team will look at changes to the docking and undocking process along with general performance in fleet fights. The SisiLauncher tool is available for this test.
They need at least 350 players to come out and test but 550 would be the ideal number for this test. Testing should last between 60 to 90 minutes and all participants will receive two million skillpoints on Singularity.

The next version update of FFXI is scheduled to include the next stage of the continuing level cap increase for both player characters and adventuring fellows.
The maximum job level for player characters will be raised to 95.
A new limit break quest will be added, the completion of which will unlock levels 91 and above. The level cap increase will be accompanied by an assortment of new job abilities, job traits, and magic spells.
The maximum level for adventuring fellows will be raised to 90.
A new fellow limit break quest will be added, the completion of which will unlock levels 86 and above.
