Microsoft files complaint over fake Halo 4 beta domain

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

Believe it or not, there are evil people on the Internet who use misinformation and deception to steal from the innocent and well-meaning. We know, we couldn’t believe it either, but it’s the truth, as recently demonstrated by an outbreak of fake Halo 4 beta test invites.

343 Industries’ creative director David Ellis was quick to debunk the bogus site, but the URL used in the phishing scam (halo4beta dot net) is still out there, tempting fate with its Halo-oriented name and un-Microsoftness. Who knows what nefarious maleficence the domain could be used for if left in the wild, so Microsoft has filed a complaint with the National Arbitration Forum in order to have the domain name transferred to its ownership.

In situations like this, the company filing the complaint has to be able to prove that the domain in question was registered maliciously in order for the Forum to decide in its favor. Under the circumstances, we feel like global fraud will probably be malicious enough to sway things in Microsoft’s favor.

Free for All: A second look at Fallen Earth’s free model

January 18th, 2012

If you want to buy aion kinah, aion gold, aion Powerleveling, please click here.

I used to be head-over-heels in love with Fallen Earth. I was on an immersion kick and had even designed a set of rules that dictated how my character would “live” in the world. Fallen Earth provided me with a lot of great tools to become immersed, and it was the type of game that really stuck out from the pack. Of course, it also sported uglier character models than Lord of the Rings Online and was more brown than a bakery at the earlier levels, but it was neat.

I gave up on the title after a while and became too busy with other games to return. Then, the free-to-play version of the title came out. I still ignored it because of scheduling, but recently I have been returning to it. I am finding a lot of bugs and an overall lack of polish that I had forgotten about, but it’s still a really cool game.

So how does the free version stack up to the subscription model? How free is it? Let’s take a look.

MapleStory adds the Cannoneer

December 9th, 2011

If you want to buy some EVE iskor EVE item, please click here.

Are you ready to solve all of your problems with the application of cannons? Up until now, MapleStory has allowed players to solve maybe a fifth of all your problems via the application of cannons. But the newest character type in the game, the Cannoneer, solves the vast majority of his problems via… well, you can guess. He also makes use of bombs and perhaps the odd aerial bombardment as well, just in case you wanted to diversify your problem-solving skills a bit.

To show off this first update in the Legends patch, we have posted not one, not two, but three videos just past the break. There is, of course, a gameplay trailer for the Cannoneer and a trailer for the patch as a whole. But there’s also the “audition” trailer for the Cannoneer as the staff at Nexon tries to decide on the next class to add to the game. Check out the videos just past the break, and get ready to open fire.

A day in the life of Bashiok

December 5th, 2011

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

Have you ever wanted to email Ghostcrawler? Maybe send him a message ranting about the state of enhancement shaman AoE, or send him one of those awesomely tacky ecards to thank him for giving rogues their 8 billionth legendary? What if he actually responded to your emails? If your name is Micah Whipple, codename Bashiok, this dream is a reality.

Blizzard’s A Day in the Life series just published A Day in the Life of Bashiok, one of Blizzard’s community managers. CMs can have the dubious distinction of being the third most oft-cursed names by World of Warcraft players, next to Ghostcrawler and possibly Mike Morhaime. They’re the players’ links to the world-spanning organization that is Blizzard Entertainment and thus the easy target of a lot of hunter angst.

Thankfully, despite some of the bad coming his way, Bashiok’s Day in the Life shows a man who truly loves his job, though he doesn’t seem to love waking up for it. He does a really good job of explaining what exactly a community manager is, and his story is worth reading just for that.

We also learn from Bashiok that a lot of what Blizzard employees do is sit in meetings, and that some of those meetings aren’t actually fun. Surprise! I don’t know why I imagined every Blizzard meeting as a bunch of middle-aged men with monocles and pinstriped suits counting their money and laughing at the 99%, but I totally did. Much thanks to Bashiok for killing that dream.

On a side note, do the pictures in this story remind anyone of Women Laughing Alone With Salad? Bashiok Laughing Alone With Computers (and Salad).

League of Legends discusses jungling changes in patch preview

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

If you’ve been following the recent updates on League of Legends, you know that the Riot Games staff has been working to diversify the current metagame with updates to the mastery tree and a complete overhaul of the dodge mechanic.

The Riot team is now looking to continue the trend toward improving jungling with the Volibear patch. A whole slew of changes aimed at lowering the skill and rune requirements for jungling and making jungling decisions more complex are slated for the next patch. In addition, the dev team is planning a total rework of Sivir (probably at least partially because of the planned dodge changes). Check out the video after the jump for more specifics!

New contest celebrates the launch of Torhead

November 24th, 2011

If you need some RIFT USA gold, please click here.

If you’ve been following Star Wars: The Old Republic for long enough, you’re probably tired of hearing it compared to World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, the launch of the beta version of Torhead isn’t going to ameliorate those comparisons, as it’s clearly meant to function in the same fashion as Wowhead (and is designed by the same team, no less). Even if you’re not lucky enough to be in the beta yet, you can scour through the database and play with the skill calculators already.

To celebrate the launch, the site staff is kicking off a contest, and appropriately enough, the more helpful content you upload to the site, the more contest entries you get. The grand prize winner gets a new Razer Naga and an Astro A40 Gaming Headset, both of which should be quite useful once the game launches. But even if you’re not in the beta, you can still browse and comment to enter, something that might help assuage the waiting.

Neverwinter was ‘almost ready to ship’ before F2P MMO retooling

November 15th, 2011

If you want to buy some Final Fantasy XIV gils & Final Fantasy XIV powerleveling service,Please click here

Last month, we reported that Cryptic Studios and Perfect World Entertainment were changing gears to render the upcoming D&D Neverwinter game more of an MMO than originally planned, complete with action combat and a cash shop to dispense vanity items and perks. Today, MMORPG.com published an interview with Neverwinter Lead Producer Andy Velasquez, in which he notes that the original title was “almost ready to ship,” but the revision is nevertheless for the best:
The change from CORPG to a full action RPG F2P MMO is a change that just made sense for us. Perfect World wanted to go big. Expand everything. Do more. Do better. Take your time. Really blow it out. Pushing into 2012 allows us to make these changes. Transitioning into a full-featured action RPG, free-to-play MMO allows us to reach a whole new audience of people. Never underestimate barriers to entry. With a free client, anyone can play. Try it. Where’s the harm? It’s better for the game, better for us, better for D&D and infinitely better for fans and gamers. With Neverwinter, we’re going to prove that F2P does not describe a type of gameplay — it only describes the fundamentals of a business model.
Velasquez also discusses user-generated content and the challenges of working with a famous IP. “A ton of effort is also being made to make sure that we produce an authentic D&D experience,” he says. Head over to MMORPG.com for the full interview.

EVE and DUST 514 Players will Communicate with each other

August 23rd, 2011

from EVE Online CCP,

EVE and DUST 514 Players are on two different platforms – PC and PS3 will be able to communicate and affect the others, this sounds amazing. But how exactly will EVE and DUST 514 players interact with each other? CCP just uncovered part of the secret.

EVE Gate serves as the communal hub for EVE pilots and DUST soldiers. According to the developer, “this is where players from both games can manage their contacts, check in-game mail (when not actually in-game), post on forums, check their calendar for upcoming events or post new events of their own to the calendar.” More features will be added as the development goes on, and some will be DUST-specific, such as battle heatmaps. “Tespia” stands for What in MapleStory world?

May 17th, 2011

Tespia was the original Global MapleStory world. It was use to test (hence the name Tespia) MapleStory in the U.S. Running before the official release of the game, it served as a BETA world, where new aspects of the game would be released before they were made live.

After Tespia started to fill up, it was divided into two worlds: East Tespia for MapleSEA and West Tespia for MapleGlobal. Shortly after Global MapleStory went final and Scania went online, both of these worlds were closed.

It was at first available for people in the U.S. and those in Malaysia, Singapore, and places around South- Read more…

FFXIV-A Beginner’s Guide to Eorzea

February 9th, 2011

by FFXIV Team>
To help new players to FINAL FANTASY XIV become more familiar with Disciples of the the Hand and synthesis,Please read the following post :
Q.What are Disciples of the Hand good for?
A.Many things. The primary task of Disciples of the Hand is to take materials obtained via combat and gathering, and turn them into myriad items through acts of synthesis. It is in this manner that crafters earn skill points, and come to learn more complex recipes as they rank up.

Disciples of the Hand are also able to make use of materials treated with items
from the Dyes category to create wares of various colors.

A crafter may earn gil by selling synthesized wares to NPCs or PCs, or, in the case of equippable items, may strap them on and make use of them straightaway.
