Since the introduction of cross-realm dungeons via Real ID, countless players have been clamoring for the feature to be extended to raids, too. Well, countless players, you don’t need to wait much longer. Cross-realm raids will be coming in patch 4.3.2. So sayeth Blizzard:

Coming in Patch 4.3.2 — Cross-Realm RaidsWe previously introduced the ability to form cross-realm parties with Real ID friends, and now with Patch 4.3.2, we’re adding the ability for players to use that same functionality to form raids to run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds!

This will allow you to join up with your Real ID friends from other realms and:

Form a cross-realm raid and use Raid Finder Jump in to any classic dungeon or raid and be automatically placed in the same instance Join forces and dominate the Battlegrounds Please note, you will not yet be able to run normal or Heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm Real ID raids.

As we look forward to the BattleTag system, it’s a very exciting time for World of Warcraft. No matter what realm you and your friends are on you’ll be able to team up and take on group content throughout the game.

Last chance to bid on retired server blades for charity

January 18th, 2012

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

Blizzard’s charity auctions of retired server blades seemed to go pretty well, with each blade going for several hundred dollars on eBay (and all of that money going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital). Most of them ended before the holidays, which is unfortunate for those of us who missed grabbing the physical representation of a server community near and dear to their heart. But if you play on a European server, you might just be in luck — Blizzard is offering a series of last-chance auctions for EU server blades starting today! Each server blade comes mounted in a nice case with an engraved plate ensuring authenticity, signed by members of the WoW dev team.

The full list of servers and end dates is available on the official Blizzard site. Good luck and happy bidding, EU folks!

RIFT’s 1.7 patch filled with content, coming soon

January 16th, 2012

If you need some RIFT USA gold, please click here.

What’s next for RIFT? Well, the 1.7 patch, for starters. The update is called Carnival of the Ascended, and if it sounds a bit festive, it is. Telaran weddings are in the offing, as Trion is introducing a marriage mechanic to its fantasy MMO. There’s also the new River of Souls Chronicle, which the official forums bill as an “undead adventure for two.”

A new master mode dungeon is coming too, as is an expert dungeon overhaul with more options and better loot for endgame avatars. Finally, there’s a free weekend coming your way on January 19th, and you can return to Telara (or check it out for the first time) for no charge through January 22nd.

How to transition from PvE into PvP

January 16th, 2012

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

The thing is that PvP is a fundamentally different game from PvE. I’m not saying one’s better or worse; the two aspects of WoW just have significant variations in gear, thought processes, and playstyles that can make the transition a little bumpy. As such, let’s renew a guide to getting away from killing bosses every week and get down to how to kill your fellow players. (In game. Let’s not get weird here.)

Resilience vs. damage

I’ve written about resilience until I’m blue in the face. We all understand why it’s important: It reduces incoming damage from other players. At this point, you can reduce said incoming damage by well over 40%. Much higher numbers are possible, but let’s play with 40% for a second.

Let’s say you’re fairly well geared for PvE, can produce your damage rotation reliably, and know what you’re doing. You have a DPS of somewhere around 30k. (I know, I know, you’re awesome and do more. I like 30k because it’s a round number.) Against me, in my standard 40% resilience gear, you’re now merely doing 18k DPS.

At this point, I tend to hear people shout about the fact that PvP gear puts out less damage, since it swaps out damage stats in favor of resilience. That’s not false. The argument would be relevant if the combatants are two mages lining up 40 paces from one another, throwing spells back and forth until one of them falls down.

The reality is that PvP combat doesn’t work like that. You rarely get through your entire priority list. Usually, you get one or two attacks off and then you spend an hour and a half running around in circles struggling to get another shot at attacking. (Some rogues in Battlegrounds look like they’re having seizures, flailing around the map like floppy, overexcited puppies.) Since you don’t get your entire rotation off, those damage stats all interact differently with one another.

It’s pretty rare that you’ll be in one-on-one combat, anyway. Even in the Arena, you have a partner. Dead characters do no damage, so if you don’t have resilience, you’re essentially a speed bump. Your little bit of extra damage from PvE gear won’t help you when you’re dead.

PlayStation 4 at E3 Story is Bogus, Says Sony

That out-of-nowhere, weirdly unsourced claim from British biz site MCV last week bluntly stating we’d see Microsoft’s next Xbox and Sony’s PS4 at E3 this summer? Baloney, says Sony (about the PS4, anyway).

“I don’t think we’re contemplating talking about anything to do with future console iterations at this point,” Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House told CVG, noting that Sony is “just entering into this great period for PS3.”

Late last week, MCV wrote a story titled “Next Xbox AND PS4 set for biggest ever E3.” The rest of the story? Just a few paragraphs claiming the same, without so much as a single “our sources tell us” or “supply chain members reveal.” (Hey, the Internet…claim anything!)

If the PlayStation 3 marked your introduction to the Killzone series, it looks like you’ll finally get a shot at trying the original. After spotting a listing for the first Killzone on the ESRB, Game Informer has confirmed with Sony that the 2004 Helghast extermination simulator is indeed headed to PSN. The title will be a port of the original PlayStation 2 Killzone, so we wouldn’t expect any extra bells or whistles.

Killzone will hit PSN on January 24 for $10.

Rockstar devs check out the black market in Sao Paulo for Max Payne 3

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

Max Payne 3 is set in the slums and high-rolling cities of São Paulo, Brazil. To truly get a feel for the land and its society, Rockstar developers and researchers traveled to the heart of the city to study its law-enforcement branches, its extensive weapons collection and to track down local casting, the Rockstar newswire reads. São Paulo has become infamous for its favelas, gang violence and illegal trafficking, perhaps because it’s all set against such a lush, photogenic landscape.

It appears the Rockstar team watched a few documentaries that take advantage of São Paulo’s dark beauty, as it’s able to name-drop such titles as Favela Rising and Bus 174. So, we’re sure the devs were completely prepared for the reality of São Paulo’s slums.

Taking a look at the world bosses of ArcheAge

If you want to buy aion kinah, aion gold, aion Powerleveling, please click here.

The upcoming sandbox game ArcheAge has turned quite a few heads with its design principles, graphics, and game mechanics. But mechanics alone don’t make a game fun to play — you need to have some content to make use of them, after all. Content like, say, a large number of bosses wandering the world for players to take up arms against. The folks over at Steparu have gone out and shown off precisely those bosses with a new series of videos, showing the latest beta build in action by demonstrating pitched fights against these enemies.

As the preview indicates, defeating bosses rewards you with enchantments, equipment, and reputation, with the last being quite useful to gain access to new prizes through the game. The first of several videos is embedded past the cut, but if you want to see the full spectrum of enemies you can fight like a boss, you’ll need to check out the full array of videos yourself and possibly join the legions of hopeful fans wondering when the game will get a stateside release.

Diablo III heading to a gaming console near you

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

For some time, the Diablo franchise has been touted by PC-gaming purists as one of the landmark reasons that PC gaming is superior to all others. Well, not anymore! Though Blizzard has made numerous statements that they were “seriously considering” a console version of the title, CM Bashiok tweeted today that the upcoming Diablo III would be making the jump to consoles, giving us our first official confirmation. Josh Mosqueira, who has worked on such titles as Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, is heading the charge as the console version’s lead designer. Aside from those small details, however, we know absolutely nil about the title’s console version (or to which consoles it will be coming, for that matter), but now that the news is out and about, we imagine that Blizzard will be making an official announcement very soon, so keep your eyes peeled and we’ll bring you the latest as it comes.

Remember that dev blog about a year ago that mentioned updates in store for EVE Online’s neocom interface? Well, it hasn’t been forgotten, but the New Eden poo-storm of 2011 kind of bumped it to the back of the line.

Today, the EVE website has been updated with a look at the new neocom’s design, and CCP Optimal has plenty of pics as well as some insights into what’s changing below the pretty exterior. Chief among the tweaks is the ability for pod pilots to pick and choose the features they use most and remove extraneous buttons from the interface.

Diablo 3 has a gambling problem in South Korea

January 9th, 2012

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

Diablo 3 is stuck in production hell in South Korea, where the Korean Ratings Board is “conflicted about what to do” with the game’s auction house, which they feel is too close to gambling to be entirely legal, The Korea Times reports. Blizzard’s Mike Morhaime visited Korea in September to resolve concerns and Blizzard has currently submitted three versions of Diablo 3 to the Ratings Board, including one without the auction house feature, but “committee members are still reluctant,” The Korea Times writes.

Blizzard is intent on a global release of Diablo 3, and this snag could affect the launch date for everyone. There is no official release date for Diablo 3 yet.

Get your lootables and chatables on with Trion’s new RIFT iOS app

January 6th, 2012

If you want to buy aion kinah, aion gold, aion Powerleveling, please click here.

With little fanfare, Trion Worlds has released an iPhone mobile app this past weekend for RIFT that should make staying in touch with guildies and in-game events far easier for the on-the-go set.

The app is called RIFT Mobile and is currently available for the low, low price of “free.” The app allows RIFT players to talk to friends and guildies whether they’re in-game or also using the app — and yes, there are push notifications if you so desire. The app also supports guild and officer chat, guild messages of the day, zone event notifications, and the guild wall.

Probably the most intriguing feature of the RIFT Mobile app is something called “Lootables” — ways to earn actual in-game loot while using the app. The app is available in English, French and German languages and can be used only by current players of the game. A community rep on the official forums has confirmed that it’s “an early release/beta” and that more official info is on the way.

SCEE QA holds up Trine 2 launch in Europe

For us in North America, Trine 2 is a real thing, a game we can download and play and everything. Our brothers and sisters in gaming abroad have been denied Frozenbyte’s sequel so far on PS3, thanks to a QA snafu at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Eurogamer reports.

“We are anxiously awaiting the European release ourselves!” exclaimed Frozenbyte’s vice president Joel Kinnunen to Eurogamer. “We had both SCEA and SCEE versions ready at the same time and they are basically 100 percent the same (SCEA version already has all European languages, for example), so we are very disappointed we couldn’t have a simultaneous launch. But it’s out of our hands.”

Right now, the game’s in QA at SCEE with no release date in sight. Kinnunen says “hopefully we’ll hear more soon,” so when some news is conjured up, we’ll be sure to let you all know.
