If you need some RIFT USA gold, please click here.

Maelforge and Laethys better be watching their backs because RIFT’s patch 1.8: Infernal Dawn is now live, and players are now able to head into the eponymous Infernal Dawn raid to lay the smack down on the pair of dragon-gods. On top of that, the patch will be ringing in a new world event known as the War of the Wanton Maw, which will presumably involve players fighting back against Maelforge’s Wanton cult and Laethys’ Golden Maw.

If you’re a less combative type, don’t worry. Infernal Dawn is also bringing some more relaxing activities in the form of two new tradeskills. Those looking to spend a calm day on the water can bait a hook and spend an afternoon fishing, while those who want to rough it in the great outdoors can craft food and shelter with the new survival skill. For the full details on what this monumental patch is bringing to the game, just head on over to the official forums to check out the patch notes yourself. Oh, and if you’re curious about what you’re going up against, just click on past the cut for a look at Maelforge and Laethys in the official Infernal Dawn trailer.

EVE Online streamlines the process of figuring out who’s crippling your ship

If you want to buy some EVE iskor EVE item, please click here.

you’re playing EVE Online, you are going to lose a ship sooner or later. It’s as inevitable as the tides. Sometimes you’ll be outnumbered and outgunned, and while that can be frustrating, there’s no real shame in it. But when you’re having your ship locked in place by an attacker you can’t see and you don’t actually know what’s happening, that is a different matter. It’s particularly infuriating, and it’s something that the game’s next update is aiming to fix.

Starting with the next patch, the new Effects Bar will show a quick overview of all the effects currently in place on your ship as well as the source of same. So if there are two people attacking you, an icon will pop up, and you’ll be able to target and counterattack appropriately rather than fumble through more clumsy interface methods.

Citizens of Star Wars: The Old Republic are advised to steer clear of the the planet Tatooine to avoid infection from a Rakghoul virus outbreak.

A ship carrying infected passengers crashed in the northeast quadrant of the Dune Sea; quarantine teams have been dispatched to the local interplanetary space port to prevent the spread of the disease. Please, avoid all infected citizens at all costs! It is possible for you to carry the the virus yourself. If you are infected and attempt to flee the planet Tatooine, you will be fired upon for the safety of all Republic citizens.

At this time, the disease is contained to one planetary system; however, our advice is to avoid travel in major space stations and other areas with travelers who may be coming from the Tatooine system.

We will keep you informed of further developments as they unfold. May the Force be with you, and watch the official Imperial holonet broadcast after the break.

SWTOR extends free game time promotion beyond level 50 characters

If the news of yesterday’s Star Wars: The Old Republic promotion to give level 50 players a month of free game time rubbed some members — the non-50s, specifically — the wrong way, then BioWare’s on the scene to make amends. The studio announced that it’s expanding its Legacy promotion to include a wider range of players.

In addition to applying to any player who’s reached level 50, the 30 days of free game time will now be applied to the account of anyone who has reached Legacy Level 6 in the game. This condition requires that a player has unlocked his or her Legacy at the end of Chapter 1 and then achieved six levels across any number of toons (Legacy XP is shared across an account).

Another change to this promotion is that players have over a week to hit either one of these goals. Players now have until 1:00 p.m. EDT on April 22nd to achieve either level 50 on a character or Legacy Level 6 on an account to receive the free month of play.

Following news of yesterday’s Legacy promotion, the SWTOR forums exploded with discussion over the topic, with the main discussion thread reaching over 250 pages on the subject.

If you’re looking forward to TERA but sad about missing En Masse’s demo of the fantasy MMO at last weekend’s PAX East, cheer up!

The firm has just released a recap video that’s almost as good as being there. It was a big week overall for TERA, and the reveals included an A-list voice cast, snippets about the launch head-start period, dungeon finder and economic tweaks, and the lush Twilight Valley region showcased at PAX.

TERA’s PAX demo pitted players against wave after wave of argons and big-ass monsters, not to mention a nasty cuss called Subject 5005. Players who were able to whittle the boss’s health down were then given a further challenge when 5005 transformed into an Argonomorph (yeah, we’re not sure what that is either, but you can see it via the video after the cut).

It’s almost time for Star Wars: The Old Republic players to begin forging their legacies. BioWare announced today that the game’s patch 1.2: Legacy update will be hitting the live servers this Thursday, April 12th, which will certainly come as welcome news to fans of the title.

In addition to the next steps of the game’s Legacy system, which our own Larry Everett has covered previously, the patch will also be bringing a wealth of new content for PvE and PvP players alike. For the former crowd, BioWare is adding a new Flashpoint known as The Lost Island and the new Explosive Conflict Operation. Players in the latter camp will be able to get their player-vs.-player jollies in the new Novare Coast Warzone, which pits Empire against Republic in a capture-and-control gametype. And of course, players of all playstyles will finally be able to tweak and customize their UIs as it suits their playstyles. Wizard101 prepares to send players to Avalon

Wizard101 always sends its players to fantastic new places with each expansion. Obviously the bar is set pretty high when the core game already features a magical setting, but each new zone seems to aim at a very different location. The upcoming new expansion Avalon is no exception; it’s sending players into a realm filled with fallen knights, warrior queens, and other elements inspired by Arthurian and Celtic myths. It also gives players a chance to explore the pasts of several important lore characters, such as the villainous Morganthe.

But lore alone doesn’t make for a fun expansion. Avalon also offers players four new utility spells per school, new pets and mounts, and six new zones to explore as characters head to the new level cap of 80. There are also new gardening levels and new gardening spells, certain to bring a smile to the face of every burgeoning virtual botanist. So if you feel like you’ve seen all there is to see in Wizard101, don’t worry — that’ll change soon enough.

Hogan will lend his talents to the Valkyon Federation’s formidable Commander Samael, while Black (best known for her role as Aeryn Sun in Farscape, as well as voice-acting stints in Dragon Age and the Uncharted series) brings her considerable charms to the role of Commander Freya of Allemantheia.

Mike Capps: Epic Games has a PC-exclusive game in the works

Gears of War and Fortnite dev Epic Games is getting back to its roots with a PC-exclusive project, creative lead Cliff Bleszinski and president Mike Capps announced today during a PAX East panel. “We might be working on a PC-only title,” Capps teased, before Bleszinski picked up where he left off: “Let me say that again: we are working on a PC game.”

The panel is still going on, but we’ll be sure to chat to the Epic folks as soon as it’s over.

Update: Epic Games prez Mike Capps told us after the panel that the unannounced PC project is currently underway, and that the current plans are to keep the game exclusive to the PC platform. Unsurprisingly, he wouldn’t tell us anything else.

Each Borderlands DLC pack was made in eight weeks

If you want to buy some EVE iskor EVE item, please click here.

Borderlands 2 art director Jeramy Cooke and concept designer Scott Kester both worked on the first Borderlands, and they shrug off accomplishments such as “made Borderlands” with considerable humility. When Cooke mentioned casually that every piece of DLC for the first title was created in just eight weeks each, we stopped him for clarification.

“You don’t understand, those first DLCs, we were literally counting K to try and fit features in there because at the time we hadn’t expected it to be such a huge success, so we didn’t know that ‘oh, we’ll have to put all this DLC in,’” Cooke said during a meeting at PAX East 2012.

This development time is impressive considering the heft of each pack, but also because Gearbox hadn’t prepared the full game to handle add-on content.

“It was the first time the company had ever done DLC, but we were like, damn it, if we’re going to do it, let’s do it,” Kester said. And so they did.

Borderlands 2 is the second time Gearbox can attempt DLC and it has implemented a robust backend system to support whatever additional content it needs, including patches and support updates. With this improved system maybe Gearbox can beat its previous record and build one piece of 20-hour DLC in just 2 hours.
