Aion: Gateway Getaway and Double XP Events

February 23rd, 2011

BY AION TEAM>

All love the Aion Double XP events. To supplement them, we are introducing a new kind of event that complements that big XP boost. Break out the cheers for a Gateway Getaway!

Our new NPCs, Basileides and Agnar, provide a full access pass for you to the Gateway Getaway event that begins Wednesday, February 23, and runs until March 9, 2011.

During this Gateway Getaway event, we will introduce special entrance gates that allow your characters to enter instances despite fort ownership. You can enter a selection of the Upper Abyss fort instances and Divine’s Abyssal Splinter from the home territories of Primum and Teminon, and access Silentera Canyon from inside your home base in the Illusion and Gelkmaros fortresses.

Sharpen your swords, and jump into the Gateway Getaway!

How to Make Aion Kinah more easily?

February 18th, 2011

Know Your Enemy – Just as some mobs of the same level give different experience, mobs will also drop different loot. Humanoid creatures will drop coin in addition to loot and while the difference isn’t staggering in reward, the extra coin does make it worthwhile to choose your targets wisely if you happen to be out grinding for XP or kinah.

Also keep in mind that named mobs and Abyss mobs will drop better loot. I don’t advocate farming named mobs during peak hours of gaming, but if it’s a quiet day, hopping back to lower levels (a tier lower than what you currently play in works well if your solo farming) and hitting all the good named mobs is a easy way to pick up a little extra cash. Aion 2.5 patch notes translated, lots of new content incoming

January 14th, 2011

Huge changes are coming your way with Aion’s 2.5 update, and we’ve got all the details courtesy of the officially translated Korean patch notes. Yesterday we chatted up Aion producer Sean Neil, and today we’ve got a few interesting nuggets that should add fuel to your 2.5 fire.

There’s a lot of new content coming in the update, none of it bigger than the new Academy Bootcamp and Araka instances (both of which sport a level 50 entrance requirement). The former is a bit of a departure from the game’s existing instances given that it’s set in a circular arena and features “wave after wave” of monsters. The Araka farm instance requires an eye for quest dialogue detail, so pay attention to the Reian tribesmen associated with the dungeon. Read more…

Aion’s Assault on Balaurea released with new trailer

September 10th, 2010

The launch of Assault on Balaurea

The Elyos and Asmodians may not like one another very much, but they’re going to have to settle their differences — at least temporarily — to take on their mutual enemy in this update.

The Balaureans are the main threat, and while it’s not a great situation to be in, look on the bright side: thanks to them, Aion players are getting new zones, instances, pets, and even a shiny new level cap. Flight mechanics have been improved as well to help everyone take on the Balaureans.

Aion: Assault on Balaurea zone trailer — Inggison

August 27th, 2010

NCsoft unveiled a video tour of Inggison, a new zone introduced in Aion’s upcoming expansion, Assault on Balaurea. No longer confined to Atreia on the interior of the planet, players will venture forth to the lands on the outside. Filled with a variety of new plant and wildlife, Inggison is the Elyos foothold in Balaurea.

Even as they bask in direct sunlight (a treat not possible in the sundered lands of Asmodae and Elysea), Daevas in Aion will encounter new foes — such as the Balaur-worshippers of Undirborg — and fight old ones, as the Asmodians try to claim the Temple of Scales and Altar of Avarice Fortresses. Aion’s Assault on Balaurea expansion live on PTS

August 20th, 2010

Ready to get a preview of Aion’s forthcoming Assault on Balaurea expansion? You’re in luck, as today finds the new content live on the Public Test Server, a couple weeks ahead of its September 7th release date. Pre-existing PTS players will find that their characters have been wiped, which is a small price to pay for the chance to test the new content with accelerated XP and loot drop rates.

Assault on Balaurea features a new pet system as well as new zones, instances, quests, and a level cap increase. Check out the official press release for more information, including how to install and run the PTS client.

Wings Over Atreia: It’s the end of the world as we know it…

July 14th, 2010

Do you feel fine?

In the final days of the countdown to server merges in Aion this Wednesday, a mixture of emotions are on display on both sides of the battle. While some are feeling excitement, others are cautious, yet bridled with apprehension, and others still are simmering with discontent about the upcoming changes in Atreia. Some apathy has even reared up, as participation in fortress battles wane and the Balaur slowly re-establish their grip of power. Many simply feel a mixture of different emotions at different times (depending which side of the most recent ganking they came out on).

Although the physical make-up of the land is not going to change like it will when patch 2.0 goes live and the Balaur homeland is introduced, the landscape will still be changed. The player base — the very atmosphere — of each new server will be markedly different. The population explosion, the economy, abyss rankings, and even tracking reputations will all be affected by the merges. No question about it, life in Aion is going to be altered for every player — though for better or for worse may be more at the discretion of each individual player, their own attitudes, and preparation.

Server merge hints are confirmed for Aion

June 25th, 2010

“SGDCZ DUZGZ RKZMC DCVHS GRDQU DQLDQ FDZMC BGZQZ BSDQS QZMRE DQCDS ZHKR” was the mysterious message posted by Aion’s Andrew “Tamat” Beegle yesterday. The jumble of letters on Twitter and the Aion notice page was decoded pretty quickly by players: “THE DAEVA HAS LANDED WITH SERVER MERGE AND CHARACTER TRANSFER DETAILS.”

Aion confirmed the server merge and character transfers today with more details as well as a comprehensive FAQ covering all the details. The merge will happen on July 7th, and character transfers will begin on the 8th. Players can take advantage of free unlimited character transfers until August 18th, and then they will continue to be available for a fee. Once the server merge happens and transfers begin, there will be a number of contests and events coming both in and out of game.

Check out all the details on the Aion site.

Wings Over Atreia: Conquering the level grind

June 25th, 2010

So what’s a girl like you doing in a grind like this?

I can’t tell you how many times a variation of this line has been lobbed my way regarding Aion. Hi everyone! I’m MJ and I have taken the Aion torch from Jef as he has moved over to cover EQII. I am looking forward to soaring through the Aionosphere with you.

If you haven’t heard about the loudest gripe ringing out over Atreia, please let me know what rock you’ve been hiding under lately so I can join you; even people who can’t distinguish Aion from linguine seem to have this answer down pat! OK, all together now — THE GRIND. We all know it, we all live it, and some have lost their remaining scraps of sanity due to it. Those who made it to level 35 still have the brick prints on their foreheads from slamming into that wall. Those who braved to 40+? Well, their foreheads are a bit squishy from repeated slamming.

Army chief in Aion

June 18th, 2010

Among the three devices and a normal left to play on the line, the last one on the right side of the remote play on OK, not bad at that time, four individuals to fight the insurance point better. Legion Zhang, we usually sing we bow to resist, avoid fine when gas absorption on the line, not the gun sword sing slow output of hatred, is responsible for clearing Xiaoguai group, can be easily adopted in Aion.

Here are tips to sell equipment, installation of equipment out there are legion Zhang out of equipment, if the sell first Do not drive out into the final BOSS speed hit. Once on shore, the speed of a person to go out to eat Ji Zou, speed back to long here to find out a good Army equipment (Army long extinguished, the Maronite blame will be gone, but the body will not disappear, and equipment can still sell), the time should be is coming and, the equipment will not go away, if there are 2 BOSS out of the equipment, then speed back to send two individuals feel good, the other two more in the back, so people have to range, and then open out ROLL.
