En Masse Entertainment has commented on a pending lawsuit by NCsoft that seeks to prevent the North American launch of TERA. As you would expect, there is virtually no detail on the proceedings, but En Masse publishing vice president Chris Lee does come out swinging, saying that the firm “outright rejects” NCsoft’s position and will fight it to the last.
NCsoft has alleged that former employees stole Lineage 3 code and art assets that were used to make TERA, and the firm has already scored a legal victory in Korea that resulted in jail time for some of the ex-staffers.
How all of this affects TERA’s U.S. release is unclear, though Lee says it’s business as usual for En Masse and its fans. “This situation has no impact on our continuing efforts to realize the vision we have for our game. We are committed to making TERA awesome and delivering the game to you on time on May 1st,” he writes.

Thus far we don’t know a whole heck of a lot about Frogster’s Eligium (other than the fact that it features kung-fu pandas). The devs have released a trailer and kicked off the game’s closed beta last month, but there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding this particular MMO.
Thanks to an interview with Frogster community manager Piotr Dawidowicz, we now have a few more details to go on, including snippets about mounts, PvP, and the importance of the game’s closed beta test.
“The closed beta for Eligium is not one of those marketing closed betas. We want to use this test phase effectively; it’s not just a way to push the product,” Dawidowicz explains. “We are intentionally not inviting the entire community to the closed beta. Many of the fans just want to see the finished product –- a polished game –- and don’t want to bother with reporting bugs. That’s why the closed beta is more of a privilege,” he says.

In an announcement of new Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Vita media (in our gallery), Capcom shared some kind of weird news about the portable port: it allows you to use the Vita as an “Ultimate Controller” for the PS3 version. We’re guessing this means you’ll be able to use the touch controls when playing the console version. We’re sure Hori and Mad Catz are raising their collective, corporate eyebrows at the “Ultimateness” of that option, but more options are always welcome.
In addition, the Vita version will offer “exclusive Gold Herald” color options for the characters, essentially making the game look like a battle between Academy Awards. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be released on February 15, concurrent with the Vita’s week-early “First Edition” hardware bundle, providing an escape from Little Deviants.

It’s patch day in Martial Empires, and gamigo has a hellish road in store for fans of the free-to-play action MMO. The Path to Purgatory update features a new survival mode challenge that pits players against hordes of monsters as they carve their way through 32 levels of a gigantic tower.
There’s also a big nasty waiting at the end of the challenge, and that’s only part of the package. If you’re looking forward to the future of warfare today, you’re probably keeping a close eye on the development of MechWarrior Online. It’s time for another update for one of the first MMOs on the go, Pocket Legends. Mount Fang, the latest expansion, brings with it an increase in the level cap to 66 as well as a reduction in the experience curve across the board. If you’re at the level cap, you can shoot for the next tier, but the reduction in the curve ensures that players at any level can benefit from the update.
There’s more to the update than just leveling, however; players will be given access to a new free campaign, Mount Fang, that starts at level 59 and provides new monsters, quests, and rewards. The economy in Fallen Earth has been stagnant for a while. The auction house has been just a place for trader clones (with maxed social skill) to post wares with a small markup from the NPC vendors prices. In some cases, these traders would post mats that could only be bought in PvP conflict towns or found in secret or dangerous scavenging spots. It was hard to be competitive in a market like that. Every resource had an unlimited supply thanks to the vendors. There were a few items that actually worked on the supply and demand principle, like vibrant and volatile chemicals and pre-fall tech. These items had prices that were dictated completely by the players. Through competition, the prices got pretty reasonable (and I even bought a few pre-fall techs to allieviate the Citadel grind).
All that has changed now, and the Fallen Earth team has made some massive changes to the way the economy works. In this post, I’ll take a look at what has changed. I’ll try to give my best guess about what will happen to the economy in the coming weeks. A great many players are already freaking out about this concept on the forums and in global chat. While I admit it’s too early to tell what will become of us in the near future, there’s no need to panic. People were rage-quitting the game mere hours after the changes were made. If you ask me, it’s a bit premature to make a decision like that. Nobody really knows what will happen, but click past the cut to see my best guesses.
