RIFT Live Producer Hal Hanlin and Systems Producer Adam Gershowitz were flagged down by fansite Magelo to tackle a grab bag of various questions about the game, including the process of injecting this title into the hearts of the Russian populace. According to Hanlin, the Russian release of RIFT was “very smooth,” and he credits Trion Worlds’ partner in the region, GFI, with assisting in that.

Even as itemization improvements continue to roll into RIFT, the devs state that they’re constantly monitoring damage output. For the next patch, Warriors will see a buff to their DPS as attack power will be tweaked to boost the pain.

Hanlin promises that “soloable content is very important to us” and pointed at the success of Instant Adventures and the Chronicles of Telara as proof that Trion has responded to the desire for such content in the game.

The devs touch on small details from the recent patch and their vision for expert dungeons as well.

Those of you who’ve been waiting to pull the trigger on a TERA pre-order because of the uncertainty over retail collector’s edition versions of the game will have to wait a little longer. En Masse Entertainment’s Evan “Scapes” Berman posted an official statement on the TERA website a short time ago that basically says the company is aware of the problem but has no time-table for fixing it.

In a nutshell, the En Masse website has been advertising physical collector’s edition packages for the better part of a week, but when gamers go to the various retail partner websites listed on the page, the CEs are nowhere to be found. Some TERA fans are a bit anxious because pre-ordering guarantees a slot in the fast-approaching closed beta period, and the only alternative thus far is to buy a digital version of the game directly from En Masse.

The latest client update to Code Club AB’s construction-oriented sandbox title Wurm Online brings a cornucopia of new features to the game, but perhaps none so interesting as the addition of proximity voice chat. That’s right, players will now be able to vocally communicate with any players in the immediate vicinity without the use of third-party applications like Ventrilo or Mumble. Have you ever wanted to gather up your village group, sit around a fire, and tell stories or just enjoy a bit of idle banter? Maybe typing “oh god help there’s a rabid pachyderm devouring my face” just isn’t expedient enough when there’s a rabid pachyderm devouring your face. Either way, players now have access to proximity voice chat, an updated UI, and much more.

For the full details on the latest client update, just click on through the link below to Wurm Online’s official site.

Star Trek Online’s second anniversary is just a month away, but the game’s transition to a free-to-play model is even closer than that. In the game’s latest developer diary, executive producer Stephen D’Angelo talks about updates leading into the business model shift, the anniversary, and the eventual rollout of the game’s next season. A couple of new bug fixes and feature improvements will be rolled out to the live game before January 17th, at which point the game will shift over to the free-to-play mode.

In February, the game will be celebrating its anniversary with a new KDF flagship, the debut of the Odyssey-class Federation ship, and soon thereafter a series of Dominion featured episodes. Players can look forward to season 6 sometime in June, with the development team aiming at something new in the game roughly every other week once the game is free-to-play. It’s a tall order, but Star Trek Online fans at least have those frequent updates to hope for if not necessarily expect.

If you want to buy some wow gold or wow item, please click here.

The Raid Finder is now live and active. This tool is probably the single greatest boon to casual and solo players added to WoW since … well, I’d have to struggle to think of something more exciting. If you can’t commit to a raid night or more than one raid night in a single week, the Raid Finder means you can still participate in the raiding game. Sure, your item level may be a few steps behind players involved in traditional 10-man and 25-man raiding. But now with the glorious Raid Finder, you can actually take part in the story.

Of course, for newer players, using the Raid Finder can be intimidating, especially if you’ve never spent any time in PUG raids before now. Grouping up at random with 24 other players is intimidating. You can’t just ignore that; jumping into a raid group that has expectations and demands about you can be a scary thing.

With that in mind, here’s a handful of tips to make sure your Raid Finder experience goes as smoothly as possible.

Get Deadly Boss Mods and voice chat. Not every Raid Finder group will use the same addons and tools, of course, but you can expect most groups will want you to have Deadly Boss Mods. Yes, there are alternatives. However, Deadly Boss Mods still seems the most popular go-to. When a raid leader asks you to get a different mod, you might as well. But have DBM installed before you hit the Raid Finder button.

Voice chat is a little more difficult, since there’s a much wider array of available voice chat clients. Still, you should have Ventrilo and Mumble already installed. I prefer Mumble, personally, but I encounter Ventrilo among PUGs much more frequently.

While nothing in Blizzard’s official tools demands you have these tools, the random groups you encounter will expect everyone to be DBM and voice chat ready.

Have food and flasks. Remember all those annoying mods that do things like whisper “Joe-Bob ain’t drunk his flask”? Well, they’re back — and probably with good reason. While Raid Finder difficulty is easier than normal raiding, you still want every little numerical advantage you can get.

More than a few Raid Finder groups will have incredibly generous folks who provide cauldrons and food for everyone. But don’t bank on that happening. Try to have your appropriate buff food and flask ready to go.

Be polite and patient. Being polite and patient with your group probably sounds like silly advice, but what blew me away about Raid Finder so far is that groups are pretty cool. I’ve found the stress level to be much lower than even 5-man dungeons. I couldn’t tell you why that’s the case, but I haven’t encountered anyone who’s really irked me so far.

So with that fresh, exciting opportunity out there, do your best to be polite and patient. Remember that this is new content, that raid groups are learning, and everyone’s (presumably) doing their best. If you find yourself getting frustrated, grab a cup of coffee and dial it back a notch.

Watch videos before you queue. The bosses in Dragon Soul via the Raid Finder aren’t exactly difficult. I blew through my first Dragon Soul in less than two hours. That being said, it helps if you are forearmed with a basic knowledge of the fights.

Make sure you check out our guide to Dragon Soul bosses in 5 seconds or less. That’ll give you a basic idea of what the heck’s going on. Really, though, you should still survey some video guides to get the in-depth why and wherefore of each fight.

Yes, the fights are perfectly explainable by a competent raid leader — but that really shouldn’t be necessary. Hit up that 5 seconds post. It’ll cover the vast majority of what you need to know.

Be prepared to chill out. The harshest part of Raid Finder is that you end up with 25 opportunities for someone to disconnect, go away from keyboard, or otherwise wander off into unknown territory. This is a natural consequence of getting a large group of humans together.

If someone leaves the raid, you’ll have to wait for a replacement. I’ve generally had to wait longer for healers than anyone else, but you definitely have to wait. Combine that with all the usual raid breaks, and you could find yourself killing some time.

Play a movie in the background. Bring a book. Make sure you can occupy a few odd moments without losing your mind. If you’re going to freak out over five idle minutes, then Raid Finder is not the place for you. Remember how I said it took less than two hours to all four current bosses? Probably 35% or more of that was spent waiting for replacements. It’s going to happen, so prepare for it ahead of time.

Beginning with the game’s 1.5 update, “being a veteran Ascended means honor, respect, and awesome rewards,” according to the informational blurb on RIFT’s website. We’ll leave the honor and respect bit to your fertile imaginations, but the awesome rewards are quite tangible. They include full Guardian and Defiant uniforms, personal vendors, and on-the-go mailboxes. You can also buy your way to full veteran status (and unlock the high tier rewards immediately) by purchasing a multi-month subscription.

Look for more details in our upcoming interview with Trion.

The latest salvo in the battle between forthcoming free-to-play aviation MMOs has been fired by Wargaming.net. The company has released a fresh batch of screenshots detailing its new World of Warplanes title, which is the second in a trilogy of World War II-based action games that includes World of Tanks and World of Battleships.

The screenshots show a small cross section of classic aircraft slipping the surly bonds of earth and engaging in various maneuvers designed to fill enemies full of hot lead. Wargaming.net’s press release says that “every plane will feature multiple variations of ammo types, engines, and other crucial modules,” and players will be able to guide their pilot avatars through a virtual career that begins in 1930s biplanes and culminates in the cockpit of Korean War-era jets.

See the sights in the gallery below, and check out our exclusive interview with project manager Alexander Zezulin for more details on World of Warplanes’ features and mechanics.

There are lots of CAVEs in WoW where you may easily get lost. So be careful of those caves listed below:

Human Cave

It is also hard to find the right path in some big human mines which have more than one layer. Fortunately, there are always rails in some places so that players can follow the rail and then get out.
*Representative area: mines in Goldshire, Borean Tundra, Dragonblight and the periphery of Deadmines

Orc Cave

An orc cave seems like a tranquil place. There are hills, rivers, and twisted but quite paths. However, the boss always lives in a high place which is difficult for players to find the right way to reach.*Representative area: Redridge Mountains

Night Elf Cave

Each layer of these caves is connected to one another. There are four intersections in the suspended bridge linking to upper and lower layer. These features make it very difficult for players to find the exit even after they kill, like a thousand monsters!*Representative area: Barrow Den in Teldrassil, Barrow Den in Ashenvale, Starfall Village, and some caves in Mount Hyjal

Ogre Cave

These caves are not that complicated. The situation is relatively easier, except for the attack from the monsters.
*Representative area: Duskwood, Nagrand, Borean Tundra

Undead Cave

Undead Caves are usually cubic in structure. When you enter an undead cave, you will be faced with three rooms: right, middle and left. There is another cave at the end of the left room. However, when you get in that cave, you will find the dark path just leads to another new grave.
*Representative area: Duskwood, Dragonblight

Demon Cave

The lower layer in demon caves is covered by lava and so is the upper layer, which has only one extra suspended stone bridge. The scenery looks almost the same and there are many monsters in the caves, which make it very easy to get lost in these caves!
*Representative area: Ragefire Chasm, Dragonblight

Wendigo Cave

These caves are located in a white world of ice and snow. They have nice scenery but if you go too deep inside the caves, you may also have troubles getting out.
*Representative area: Wendigo caves in Winterspring

Sporeling Cave

These caves are only located in some places of the Outland. Players will encounter them frequently in the quest of “Saving the Sporeloks”.The structure of these caves looks layered, but when you enter it, you’ll find it takes a very round about path to get to the upper layer.
*Representative area: Zandalar

Worm Cave

A worm cave is covered by creeping worms everywhere. The scenery seems all the same in worm caves, but it is not very difficult for players except for the disgusting monsters and the long way
*Representative area: Tanaris, Un’Goro Crater, Silithus

Ooze Cave

The most common monsters in these caves are oozes, bog beasts and gnolls. Although the ooze cave is not that circuitous, the monsters in there are dense and crowded.
*Representative area: Weeping Cave of Western Plaguelands
