World of Warcraft Patch 3.2 Release Patch Notes

August 4th, 2009

Included with the patch update is a fresh copy of the patch 3.2 patch notes. These notes come directly from the updater that you’ll download to update your game.

Please be aware that Blizzard has lately been releasing an updated version of these later in the day. We’ll update these notes, in this post, if that happens.

There are some major highlights to patch 3.2 that we’ve known about for awhile. They include:

A new battleground in the Isle of Conquest
A new 5, 10, and 25 person dungeon/raid in the Crusaders’ Coliseum
Significant changes to mounts requirements
Class changes
A major update to the Argent Tournament
Arena Season 7 (which will begin sometime soon)
The full patch 3.2 patch notes are after the break, and don’t forget to check out WoW.com’s Guide to Patch 3.2 for all our patch coverage.

Update: The notes have been updated to the latest notes released by Blizzard this afternoon.

Isle of Conquest details released

June 15th, 2009

Vaneras has just released the details for the Isle of Conquest, the new battleground that will be appearing in Patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade.

You can read the complete details over on the official forums or check ‘em out after the break. There are some key things that everyone should be aware of:

IoC will be a 40-man battleground. Yes, you read that right. This is the first 40-man content released since Naxx 1.0. That is going to make some old school players very, very happy. I know I’m already giddy with excitement.
There will be significant use of siege and vehicle combat. This includes going on The Airship Hanger and using parachutes to drop teams onto the enemy keep from above.
You will need to kill a general held up in the enemy keep, much like Alterac Valley.
Reinforcements will be used. Capture resources to boost your strength.
This looks like an amazing new battleground, and one that I’m sure many of us cannot wait to try out on the PTR. There has been a ton of new information about Patch 3.2 released in the last few days, so it looks like PTR might be soonish. Keep your fingers crossed.

Upcoming mount changes

June 11th, 2009

A very big announcement this evening from Zarhym. In the “next major content patch” (which means Patch 3.2) the mount system in WoW will be having some significant changes to it. The highlights are as follows:

Regular land mounts trainable at level 20 (was 30)
Epic land mounts trainable at level 40 (was 60)
Regular flying mounts trainable at level 60 (was 70)
Regular flying mounts speed increased to a 150% gain (was 60%)
The costs for all the training and mount purchases has been decreased outright, with the exception of the artisan riding skill (epic flying mounts). For all mount costs, faction discounts now apply.

This means that when you hit 60 you’ll be able to fly around Hellfire and finish all those quests. Leveling from 60 to 68 is going to become easier and more relaxed. You’ll hit Northrend much sooner with this change.

New 5-man instance confirmed for future patch

April 22nd, 2009

There is some much welcomed news on the five player dungeon front tonight. Zarhym has confirmed that there will be a new five player dungeon in an upcoming patch. That dungeon, according to Zarhym, will be comparable to Magister’s Terrace.

No other information is provided on it, other than the promise for a preview when it’s ready.

Magister’s Terrace was released in Patch 2.4 and contained higher-than-normal item level equipment and weapons for players. Many people felt that Magsiter’s Terrace was also the hardest 5-man dungeon introduced into the game at the time.

While there is no indication that this dungeon will be released with patch 3.2, I don’t think it’s a wild assumption to make. Blizzard has previously indicated a future patch will also contain a new battleground.

New details on upcoming 3.x patches

February 23rd, 2009

Curse is running an excellent story about their time spent last evening with Blizzard developers Jeff Kaplan and Tom Chilton. There’s a few things we didn’t know before that are in the article. The major ones are:
Patch 3.1 is already done (says Kaplan). Will release Ulduar 10-man and 25-man raids.
Patch 3.2 will contain a yet to be announced raid instance. Hopefully more on this over the next two day. Release date / timeframe is unknown.
Patch 3.3 will continue the Ashbringer storyline. Release date / timeframe is unknown.
Dance studio to be released after WotLK.
Guild ratings, where guilds get a rating based on PvE/PvP achievements. The idea is being “tossed around.”
The other interesting note is that the development team is three patch cycles ahead of the live game. That’s amazing, in my opinion. And beyond that, they’re also working on the next expansion. Doesn’t that raise your eyebrow just a bit? Perhaps we’ll hear something major in the next few hours…
